INEC Voters Card is a very important document every Nigerian citizen must have . It is one your mouth when it comes to election as it is the tool you must have for you to be able to vote the rightful candidate into power.   • visit INEC registration center
  • provide your names
  • Provide your current address
  • Passport information
  • Your full details of the that is; gender, date of birth, profession, etc

When you have successfully registered for INEC voters card, the next thing is obtaining the Permanent Voters Card (PVC) but the before then, let’s see how to check voters registration status

 

How To Check Voters Registration Status

There are three different ways you can use in checking your voters registration status. Let’s look at them one after the other.

1. Visit Your Polling Unit

You can check your voters registration status by simply visiting your polling unit. INEC will display the list of registered voters. You have to check and confirm that your details are included
and correct.

2. Check Voters Registration Using your phone

You can check your voters registration status with your phone. Just send a text message to 08171 646 879 in the
following format: state, surname, last five digits of your voter identification number (found on the top of your temporary or permanent voter card).
An example is given: Anambra, Uleh, 02457. You should receive a response within 15 minutes showing your full profile on the Voters’ Register and your polling unit number, or an error message.
If you receive an error message, check to ensure  that you entered your information correctly.
Note that text messages are charged at the local
network rate.

3. Check Voters  Registration on INEC Website

You can check your voters registration status by logging into the INEC official website. This is how you can check your voters registration status on INEC website;

  • Goto http://www.inecnigeria.org/?page_id=2160
  •  Click on “Check Status Using VIN”
  • Choose the state of registration
  •  Type in your Last Name
  • Type in your full VIN number
  • Lastly, tap Check Status.
  •  If you can’t remember your VIN number, there is an option to check status using your date of birth.

Note: VIN means Voters Identification Number and it is unique.

Importance Of Voters Card

Voters card is very important to every citizen of a country. INEC voters card is very useful to you as an individual . First is that you have the right to vote during election with voters card.  Second is that you can use it as a means of identification when filling some documents like when opening account in the  bank. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled 16th February 2019 to be the date for Nigerian general election, 2019. This will be the sixth quadrennial elections since the end of military regime in 1999. Below are the dates for 2019 general election as proposed by INEC
